About the project
The beginning
In 2018 Lithuanian architect Tauras Budzys initiated a project to pay tribute to the "Lithuanian Righteous Among the Nations" who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. Since then, Tauras has put more than 200 special made tokens on their graves

Tokens
The sign was created by architect Tauras Budzys, sculptors Jonas Gencevičius and Antanas Šemis, the sign and idea were approved by the Israeli institution Yad Vashem, the Lithuanian Jewish Museum and the Lithuanian Bishops' Conference.

Lithuania is in second place in terms of the number of righteous people in the world, in percentage terms. This is an important and meaningful historical legacy of our country - an example of civic initiative that we must know and nurture.
As of 1 January 2021, Yad Vashem has recognized 27,921 Righteous Among the Nations from 51 countries.
